HK: A Free Economy
I find that Hong Kong is a true capitalist (read free) economy. There seems to be no concept of MRP(maximum retail price). This was even more startling when I saw that McDonald's, the firm that believes in standardizing everything, actually has differential pricing. Supermarkets of the same chain, are more expensive in certain areas and cheaper in other places.

Well, that's quite similar to the US. No price tags a lot of stuff here, so the same will sell for $2.5 at one store and $5 at a store couple of miles down the road.
Guess, that's the price for a free economy.
Hong Kong is a certain type of organized cartel. State goverment ownes all the land (and leases it), all the hospitals, all the schools...
There are only 3 supermarket chains.
Low cost ferriers do not land in HK...
